Gift bags for brides to be!

It's wedding season here in Florida. Summer is about 100F in Florida so most weddings here occur fall through spring. Tis the season for cute gift bags. This particular bag did include some Stampin' Up! goodies for bride to be Lianne. Lianne and I bonded over our love for paper crafting last summer and have had crafting dates ever since.

"I'm pretty sure real romance means that I do crafts and watch TV on my phone while Dustin plays video games... or, if that's not romance its a nice way for me to be introverted and hang out with him at the same time...."~ Lianne

Lianne actually had a mini card class going during her bridal shower. She made step by step direction boards to make two cards.  For one of the cards, her guests made their own thank you card and addressed the envelope so it could be sent back to them once she writes a sweet note inside. Genius right!! Seriously, even though she just started stamping, Lianne should be demonstrator lol! Of course she made her own wedding invites and favors.

For Lianne's gift bag, I used the retired color of Crisp Cantaloupe (Dear Stampin' Up! please bring this color back!!!), but you can use any pretty color. I made the flowers using the Spiral Flower die. To make the flower bigger, I doubled up the flower pattern. Next, I use a circle punch to cut out leaves. On my bag, I used the Happy Script framelit by Mama Elephant. Stampin' Up! also has a cute "happy" framelit within the Hello You framelits set.

Here is the Stampin' Up! You Tube on how to use the Spiral Flower die with the Big Shot.

Christmas is coming!! Paper Ornaments how to

Hey guys! Tinie Thoughts Blog went on break last week due to an overload of work and 3 Paper Hour: Christmas Card Making Classes. We had so much fun and yes I played Christmas music in the house exactly two days after Halloween. I made some paper ornaments as door prizes for my guests. Believe or not, these only need 4 items to make. A 2 1/2 circle punch, some glue dots, ribbon or clear string, and a stapler (click on pics below for links). I got directions from this wonderful site, Homemade Gifts Made Easy: Basically, punch 10-12 circles, stack them, and staple the middle. I added clear fishing or jewelry string around the stack to hang the ornaments. You can use ribbon. Stick three glue dots at about 1/3 of the way from the top. Continue like this all the way around, alternating high and low glue dots.

2 1/2 Punch

Mini Glue Dots

Until next time!

Special Project: Sentiment Flowers

When life hands you lemons... grow a garden! I've been the chair of the Sunshine Fund to a group of 18-19 amazing educators for a few years. With 19 people, we have happy events and sometimes life happens. As one of my dear friends/colleague embarked on a long journey at the side of her mother, the day came when heaven called. I did not know my friend's mother, but I can tell you that she raised a beautiful, strong, and intelligent woman. Having lost a close family member myself, I remembered that in the hustle of all the events, my loneliest time was upon my return to the routine of life (a.k.a work). As inspired by my friend's journey, came a special project... sentiment flowers. Flowers met to last with kind messages from supportive colleagues to remind her all year long that she is appreciated. Once the project was completed, I made a special trip to the office to "plant the paper garden" before my colleague returned from her leave. Although not traditional flowers, these lovelies are met to be the hug you need when the dust settles. I chose to put the messages on the opposite side of the flower so that when you lift each flowers, its like a surprise! I received the most touching text message from my friend. She indeed had gone to the office first before heading to her schools and seen the flowers to cheer her up.

    1) First, we sent an email to the group about this project and handed the "bottom" flowers to the group and others that work closely with our friend. I used the Blossom Punch (retired punch) to make the bottom flowers. Below I included other flower punches that may also work.
    2) Each colleague was responsible to write a positive and supportive message.
    3) Once I had all of the "bottom" flowers back, I punched smaller flowers using the Pansy Punch . I specifically picked the  2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack for its cheerful colors.
    4) I curled each flower using a skewer stick.
    5) I attached the top and bottom flowers using an adhesive tape runner.
    6) Last, I punched the buds to the flowers using 1/2" circle punch and glued each bud to a flower.

Here is what I used:
1/2" Punch
Pansy Punch

Fun Flower Punch

Flower Medallion Punch
2015-17 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack
In Color 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock
Snail Permanent Adhesive
